Feeling guilty for killing mice and insects

Dear fellow Buddhas
The Buddha teaches that all things are Buddha nature. I have a problem with mice and have been using traps to catch them, but some of them I have just maimed and I feel very guilty about that. I do'nt even fish because I feel so guilty about killing anything. Yet I feel like a hypocrit because I eat meat. Is this a stupid question?
