Dear Friends

This is an invitation to join Buddhists for Animal Rights mailing list. Everyone is welcome to our AR list

Buddhism regards all sentient beings - human non human animals, insects etc as being endowed with the Buddha nature and the potential to become Buddhas, therefore we must endeavour to protect ALL sentient beings from harm and suffering.

Each year approximately 45 billion animals are killed and raised in inhumane conditions in the world. This does not include fish. Billions of other non human animals are tested on, abandoned, hunted, bred for fur etc.

We post international and domestic animal rights
articles, news and action alerts approx 3 times/week from many excellent sources. Animal exploitation and cruelty has no borders nor should animal activism.

This is an announcement list only.

About us:

Buddhists for Animal Right's main goal is to assist in the abolition of animal use in medical research, product testing, circuses, rodeos and other forms of entertainment. We are opposed to the "sport" of hunting, the wearing of animal skin, mainly fur and also wool, leather, down, etc. Buddhists for Animal Rights supports the eventual phasing-out of animals for food consumption. We also support human rights and decisions based on ethics, wisdom and compassion. We are seeking an end to discrimination of all kinds through non-violent action. Speciesism is unjust.

We can all help end the unethical treatment, exploitation and injustices that many sentient beings endure. We believe all groups should work together despite differing ideologies, beliefs etc as labels mean very little to a non human animal who is suffering NOW. We believe in working from every avenue towards total abolition. We invite you to join us.
